Analytics Overview

The Analytics section gives you a clear picture of how your charter is performing. Access it from Dashboard → Analytics.

What's Tracked

  • Revenue: Total earnings over time
  • Bookings: Volume, status breakdown, and trends
  • Trips: Performance by trip type
  • Confirmation rate: How many bookings convert vs. cancel
  • Average value: Revenue per booking

Selecting a Time Period

Use the period selector at the top to choose 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or a full year. All charts and stats update to reflect your selection.

Revenue Charts

The revenue chart is the first thing you see on the Analytics page. It shows earnings broken down by day, week, or month depending on the period you select.

Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Views

  • 7-day view: Revenue per day — spot short-term spikes
  • 30-day view: Revenue per day with a trend line
  • 90-day / year: Revenue grouped by week or month

Comparing Periods

The chart shows your current period alongside the previous period so you can see whether revenue is trending up or down. A percentage change is displayed at the top of the chart.

Understanding Trends

Look for patterns: seasonal peaks, weekend vs. weekday differences, and the impact of pricing changes. Consistent upward trends mean your marketing and pricing are working.

Bookings Trends

Below the revenue chart, you'll find booking volume metrics that help you understand demand.

Bookings Over Time

A line chart shows the number of bookings per day or week. This helps you identify busy periods and plan your availability accordingly.

Popular Days

See which days of the week get the most bookings. Use this to focus your availability on high-demand days and consider promotions for slower ones.

Average Party Size

Track how many guests your anglers typically bring. This helps you right-size your trips and set appropriate capacity limits.

Lead Time

How far in advance do anglers book? Knowing your average lead time helps you decide when to open availability and when to send marketing reminders.

Spot Patterns

If most bookings come in 2–3 weeks ahead, consider opening your calendar further in advance to capture early planners.

Trip Performance

Understand which trips drive the most value for your charter.

Revenue by Trip

A breakdown showing how much each trip earns. Quickly identify your top performers and consider promoting them more.

Utilization Rates

See what percentage of available slots are being booked for each trip. Low utilization may mean you need to adjust pricing, improve descriptions, or reduce available slots.

Add-On Popularity

If you offer add-ons, analytics shows which ones anglers choose most often. Popular add-ons might deserve a price increase; unpopular ones might need better descriptions or bundling.

Optimize Your Offerings

Use trip performance data to double down on what works. Consider retiring trips with consistently low utilization and investing in your highest earners.

OTA Performance

If you distribute through online travel agencies or other channels, the OTA section tracks those bookings separately.

Bookings by Channel

See how many bookings come from each distribution channel vs. your direct booking page. This helps you evaluate whether channel partnerships are worth the commission.

Commission Tracking

Track total commissions paid per channel. Compare net revenue from OTA bookings against direct bookings to understand the true cost of each channel.

Pro Tip

Direct bookings are always more profitable. Use OTA data to decide where to invest in driving direct traffic instead.

Exporting Data

Need to analyze your data in a spreadsheet or share it with your accountant? You can export analytics data directly.

Download CSV or PDF Reports

  1. Go to Dashboard → Analytics
  2. Select your desired time period
  3. Click "Export" in the top right
  4. Choose CSV (for spreadsheets) or PDF (for sharing)

Date Range Selection

Exports respect the time period you have selected. Switch to a custom range if you need data for a specific window, such as a tax quarter or a promotional campaign.

Custom Exports

For more granular data, use the full data export feature under Settings → Data.

Tips for Getting the Most from Analytics

  • Check weekly: A quick glance every week helps you catch trends early before they become problems.
  • Compare seasons: Use the 90-day and yearly views to spot seasonal patterns. Plan your marketing and pricing around peak and off-peak periods.
  • Optimize pricing: If utilization is high but revenue per booking is flat, consider raising prices. If utilization is low, try promotions or discounts.
  • Track changes: After adjusting prices, adding trips, or running a promotion, check analytics the following week to measure the impact.
  • Share with your team: Export a PDF report to keep everyone aligned on business performance.

Set a Weekly Ritual

Pick a day each week to review your analytics. Monday mornings or Friday afternoons work well. Consistent check-ins lead to better business decisions.
