How Gift Cards Work
Gift cards let anyone purchase a stored-value card for your business. The recipient can then use the balance toward any trip at checkout. It's a win-win: you get upfront revenue, and the recipient gets a great experience.
Plan Requirement
Gift cards are available on the Professional plan and above.
Enabling Gift Cards
- Go to
Dashboard → Settings → Store - Enable the gift cards toggle
- Set your available denominations (e.g., $25, $50, $100, $200)
- Optionally allow custom amounts
- Save your settings
Once enabled, a "Gift Cards" link appears on your booking page, making it easy for anyone to purchase.
Purchasing Gift Cards
Anglers can purchase gift cards directly from your booking page:
- They visit your booking page and click "Gift Cards"
- They choose an amount and enter the recipient's email
- They add a personal message (optional)
- They pay via Stripe
- The recipient receives an email with their gift card code
Pro Tip
Promote gift cards around holidays and special occasions. They make great last-minute presents since delivery is instant via email.
Redeeming Gift Cards
When a angler with a gift card balance books a trip, they'll see their available balance at checkout. They can apply the gift card to reduce or fully cover the cost.
Automatic Detection
The system automatically detects when a angler has a gift card balance based on their email address. No code entry needed during checkout.
Managing Gift Cards
From Dashboard → Settings → Store, you can:
- View all issued gift cards and their balances
- See redemption history
- Track total gift card revenue
- Set expiration policies
Expiration
You can optionally set gift cards to expire after a certain period (e.g., 12 months). Recipients will receive a warning email before their card expires.
